Books and Videos

There are tons of books out on the marketplace that cover potty training. There are books for her, books for him and even a few books for the parents. Now you have to ask yourself, what kind of books do I go out and get.

Most of the books that you find in the library are books with colorful pictures, which show children going to the potty. Now, these books are good to use to introduce your son or daughter to potty training and to show how other children are using the potty.

What I do find is, these books are not a good tool to teach potty training. In other words, if you want to show your child other children on the potty so they see what they are supposed to do, then this is a good tool.

But, if you really want to learn how to potty train and tips to use for potty training, then most of these books or videos are not the best mechanism to use with your child.

There are books in the marketplace that teach parents how to potty train their children. Although some of these books have a lot of content, the problem is most are written by psychologists, doctors, or pediatricians.

Most of these pediatricians and doctors have studied children in a laboratory or have gone to some seminar, but none have really spent the time to potty train. In my career so far, I have changed over 50,000 diapers and have potty trained over 317 children. So, my experience is from potty training, not from watching children inside of a laboratory who are using the potty.

The next things you can get are videos. Again, the videos are great for introducing your son or daughter to the potty. But one of the things that I found with videos was my children became very addicted to singing the songs that were on the videos. The videos really did not help them learn how to use the potty effectively.

So, in essence, the videos are good for introduction to the potty but not a good source of teaching the child how to potty train.

Books are only going to teach you, the parents. So, what you want to do is find resources like thepottytrainer.com that have products that will absolutely teach you the parent what you need to do to have your child potty trained effectively.
